New Name, New Hope

Over the last 6 years we have gone from being a tiny founder-led movement, helping a handful of individuals each month, to becoming a relevant national charity helping thousands of people every week. With our unique community-led approach and holistic programme, we have helped nearly 100,000 individuals to transform their lives while saving £millions for the NHS!

Despite our achievements, our work is far from finished. The aftermath of the COVID pandemic, paired with current economic conditions, is producing an unprecedented mental health crisis in the UK. More than 100 lives are still being lost to suicide every week in the UK and our nation’s mental health struggles are of epidemic proportions.

Rising to the challenge

Given that 1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem each year – it means there are approximately 17m individuals who are suffering and could benefit from our support right now.

We must do more and extend our reach, and with that in mind we are proud to unveil our new name of

Athletic Minds Foundation.

Our new name is not just a rebrand – but represents the start of an exciting new chapter in our story. Our goal remains the same – to help as many individuals as possible to live healthier, happier lives – but we are starting 2024 with high hopes and new plans to support even more people.

Our exciting plans for 2024 include:

  • Opening up a network of new hubs in different parts of the country (Stockport and Manchester will be first) based on the success of our Halifax model
  • Partnering with businesses and corporations to take our winning formula into the workplace
  • Launching a digital platform for that we can help anyone, anywhere at anytime
  • Working with well-known athletes to provide further inspiration for personal change

We are determined to make a meaningful difference to the lives of millions and with your support look forward to continuing our vital work in 2024.
